Could Omega-3s Help COPD Patients Facing COVID-19?
This review paper looks at why people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) tend to have worse outcomes when they get COVID-19. The authors point to several factors, including reduced lung function, an overactive inflammatory response, weaker immune defenses, higher oxidative stress, and increased levels of the ACE2 receptor that the virus uses to enter cells.
